Loyalty is the key!

Loyalty is important in all businesses, and the upholstery trade is no different. In fact it's a business where loyalty is probably even more important. Why? It's not like clients treat us like a supermarket and visit on a weekly basis to pick up essential items. So developing a solid relationship with our clients - creating loyal clients  - is the lifeblood of our business.

But it is easy forget about your clients' needs in pursuit of making a dollar. You often have a short term focus of 'paying the bills' rather than thinking about the partnership you have created with your clients.

Why is loyalty important? It's more than important, it's vital. If you can create loyal clients, you have undoubtedly guaranteed yourself some long-term business. At UFO we try our hardest to cultivate loyal clients. No clients = No business!

So what does a loyal customer expect from any business?
  • Good communication
  • Responsiveness to issues
  • Good quality
  • That little something extra
It boils down to excellent customer service!

Loyalty is Key.

Loyalty means that even when you raise the price of products and services your clients will happily pay it. Loyalty means, that when your clients come across a better service provider down the street they choose you. Loyalty means your clients don't bother researching what's out in the marketplace, because they are happy with you. Loyalty means your clients tell their friends "I love our upholsterer, because….!"

Loyalty means you need to appreciate your clients. As simple as that.

Loyalty takes time to establish, it is not created by gimmicks like '1/2 off' - it may get them in the door but won't keep them. Loyalty is most definitely not gained when you undertake below par repairs, or grumble and groan about your clients.  How often have you heard a business owner say something like "I would love being a [insert profession], if only I didn't have customers!" Even if you don't say it to your client's face, it's easy for them to detect it.

So start thinking about how you can make fans out of your clients, if you haven't done so already.

So how loyal are your clients? What would you need to do to create loyalty? How can UFO make you a loyal client?
