Restore or Buy New Furniture?

Are you debating about whether to restore a piece of furniture or buy something new? Well here's a little help in determining if it's worth the time and effort in restoring a piece

When you originally acquired the piece in question did you just 'nip down to the shop' to buy it? Or is there more to it than that? Is it a family heirloom? Did you commission it to be made? Is their sentimental value involved?

How do I know if it's Quality Furniture?


The last article I wrote talked about the 'Master Seal' and this is a great way to check to see if the piece of furniture that you are interested in, is a quality piece. But you might be interested in taking the next step.  

You need to really look 'under the hood' to really see if the piece is of good quality. By quality, I'm talking about it lasting! Not just lasting  2 years before breaking, more like 20+ years. Can you buy furniture that lasts that long these days? Yes you can.
