Upholstery is more than just sofa's and chairs. You can pretty much upholstery anything really, but it still needs to be functional of course.

Upholstered headboards are becoming more and more popular. You see them in magazines, high end furniture stores, movies and of course online. There isn't a craft inspired blog that doesn't feature someone trying their hand at an upholstered headboard, and for good reason, they look great! Upholstered headboards are fun and can add a great sense of dimension to the room and you can turn the skills you learnt from upholstering a headboard to producing a great piece of art.

A custom headboard sets your room apart from the rest, since you have pretty much have a limitless supply of fabrics - you don't need to worry so much about durability - it's all about how it looks, not how it performs.

There are many styles to choose from which can change the feel of your room. An 'Oxford' style will provide a different feel than a 'Portman' style. Combine that with either a fun fabric or a classic and you have even more possibilities. Mind you it can get a little overwhelming when there is so much to choose from.
